Who we are - what we do
Summary
Bowie Connect is an initiative of the Multi-modal Access and Public Spaces (MAPS) subgroup of the Bowie Green Team. The goal of the initiative is to build infrastructure and raise awareness about efforts that connect our community.
Our efforts are coordinated through MAPS, which is a community-based citizen advisory group whose goal is to make the community around us a better, happier place to live. We promote, advise and advocate to the City Council to build infrastructure in and around the city that allows people to connect to community resources and to each other through walkable and bikeable transportation options, and the creation of vibrant public spaces.
Our goal is two-fold. First, to build healthy, active and clean transportation options such as sidewalk, trails and bike lanes. Second is to build unique, vibrant and attractive destinations for people to gather.
