Bowie Connect is an initiative of the Multimodal Access and Public Spaces (MAPS) subgroup of the Bowie Green Team. The goal of the initiative is to build infrastructure and raise awareness about efforts that connect our community.
Our efforts are coordinated through MAPS, which is a community-based citizen advisory group who's goal is to make the community around us a better, happier place to live. We promote, advise and advocate to the City Council to build infrastructure in and around the city that allows people to connect to community resources and to each other through walkable and bikeable transportation options, and the creation of vibrant public spaces.
Our goal is two-fold. First, to build healthy, active and clean transportation options such as sidewalk, trails and bike lanes. Second is to build unique, vibrant and attractive destinations for people to gather.
We are only as strong as our numbers and our combined passion. If you're passionate about what we're doing, please let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!

Whether you help through volunteering your time at meetings and events, spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, or through sending letters or emails or speaking at a public meeting, every little bit helps! Thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of passionate people like you.
Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, we now meet virtually via Microsoft Teams every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm instead of in-person at the Kenhill Center as we did before. Contact us and let us know if you'd like to join one of our virtual meetings, either to actively participate or just to listen.
